New York Fashion Week: Alice + Olivia A/W17
Big Apple-based, Jessica Barta Lam, is taking the fashion industry and runway by storm. The Chinese-Hungarian model has featured in a number of campaigns and fashion shows, and, this season, has walked for brands like Malan Breton, Asaf Genot and Alice + Olivia.
8.40am: Wake up
8.50am: I head into the to kitchen and make myself some coffee, hot water and have some boiled eggs.
9am: Get dressed and ready to leave.
9.30am: Head out to Highline Stages for Alice + Olivia’s A/W 17 presentation!
10am: Arrive at Highline Stages
10.30am: Shortly after I arrive, they start with hair and nails. The stylists give me fake bangs, and lightly curl my hair into tousled waves.
11.30am: Time for makeup! Alice + Olivia went for a bold look this season, dubbed “Romance with an Edge”, combining a dark colour palette with metallics. Some of the products used by talented makeup artist, Erin Parsons, were Maybelline New York’s “Expert Wear Eye Shadow” on my lids, and also Maybelline’s “Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds” within a deep burgundy on my lips.*
The brand drew inspiration from Salman Rushdie’s The Enchantress of Florence, a novel about a young woman who utilises her powers to control her own destiny in a man’s world.
12.15pm: After makeup, it’s time to get ready! Alice + Olivia dress me in a short velvet dress with bell sleeves and studded combat boots.
1pm: Showtime! I’m standing next to the lovely Phoebe (@phoebepojo), who is also with Click/Re:Quest Management.
2.30pm: During the presentation, my gorgeous friend and model, Louisa Warwick, stops by to say hello!
3pm: The presentation finishes.
4pm: I head into the city to eat.
5pm-6pm: As soon as I get home, I shower and put on a face mask: Caudalie’s Detox Pink Clay mask.
until 12am: I take the opportunity to chill at home until heading to bed at around midnight.
